Secure Storage and Retention Policies: RIM encompasses the proper storage and retention of records and information. We will be exploring how organizations ensure the secure storage of sensitive data, including physical and digital records, on-prem. repositories, cloud storage, and data lifecycle management.

Presenter BIO:

Brian Garcia, CIP

Brian Garcia began his career working with Student Information System (SIS) data at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Brian continued his time in public service working for the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas where he served as a Clerk of the Court with responsibilities including record integrity, case management and evidence logging. After a decade of public service, Brian was hired in the Records and Information Management field for Koch/Flint Hills Resources and then NuStar Energy where he honed his skills and earned a Certified Information Professional (CIP) credential. Currently, Brian is the Assistant Vice President and Manager of Records & Information Management at Cullen Frost Bank.

Some of Brian's achievements include modernization and creation of Retention Schedules, Implementation of Physical Records solutions, Information Governance committee development and policy creation.
