Key Points:

Professional Certification does have value—but Records and Information Management Professionals often wonder which one is right for them. Dr. Patricia (Pat) Franks of the SJSU School of Information will discuss the evolution of the records and information management profession, including approaches to information  management adopted by corporations and the creation of new roles and  responsibilities related to both information governance and data governance. She will review of three distinct certification options based on her own reasons for earning each—CRM, IGP, and CIGO--focusing on the differences between the three and the
advantages each brings to the RIM Professional.
